Trends in medical education for 2023

The last 3 years could never have been predicted and have had far reaching consequences, including on the way we communicate.

The pandemic, mixed with a greater awareness of the need to make sustainable choices and a cost-of-living crisis have accelerated changes that were simmering beneath the surface in the world of medical education.

Our prediction for the top 3 trends of 2023 are:

  1. Virtual reality. If it’s good enough for the record-breaking Abba Voyage, it is surely going to be good enough for medical education. Following the use of augmented reality and avatars in mainstream activities they are now widely accepted and offer the ability to deliver education and simulate situations that it would not be cost effective to replicate in the real world.
  2. E Learning. The pandemic initially left a gap in education which was then filled with a variety of newly created e-learning targeted at healthcare professionals. It is expected that although there will be a return of in person events that will be selectively attended, e learning will continue to have a place in medical education, providing easy to access materials at a time that suits the clinician, saving them the time and environmental impact of travel.
  3. Blended Learning. This brings together e learning with in person learning to allow attendees to access the information in the way that is right for them. Vivari have been delivering a number of blended learning events which have included hub and spoke style educational webinars where local chairs have been able to lead working groups to look at how to implement national guidance within their locality.

Whatever the medical education need of your target healthcare professional group, Vivari can help They have the expertise, experience and energy to bring your vision and brand aims to life.
