As is our tradition at Vivari , we are not sending Christmas cards but have have made donations to Rotherham Hospice and to Crisis – our chosen charities again this year.
The Charities Aid Foundation Just Giving Report shows that fewer people have donated to charity this year but those that give are giving more and it is heartening to know that even in these still uncertain times, donating to charity is still important to millions of people.
There has been a move away from cash giving and this may have contributed to the increased average donation as donors are not constrained by the amount of cash in their pockets and many charities have websites which encourage desired donations through online payments.

Whichever charities you choose to support will appreciate your donation irrespective of amount. Generosity is not measured in cash but in so many ways – volunteering with time, resources and helping to spread the word about their work can all help to make a difference.
Christmas is a time for generosity of spirit as well as a time to spend with loved ones.
However you are spending the festive break this year we hope it will be a jolly and enjoyable time and wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
